The Todd Beamer Titans and Decatur Gators wrestling teams are ready to make some noise at the Class 4A State Tournament Friday and Saturday inside the Tacoma Dome.
The Titans crowed a pair of champions at Saturday’s Class 4A Region II Tournament at Todd Beamer High School and the Gators advanced six wrestlers to the Mat Classic. Decatur’s defending 285-pound state champion, Tevyn Tillman, was dominant again. Tillman rolled to the heavyweight championship Saturday at Beamer by pinning Rogers’ Allan Thompson in the title match.
Beamer will be take four wrestlers to the Mat Classic, led by Trevor Mills and Tyler Enos. The two seniors garnered back-to-back titles Saturday at 130 and 135 pounds.
Mills got a little bit of revenge during his championship match against Rogers’ Brian Bitney. The two also wrestled last week for the SPSL South title, with Bitney winning, 4-2. This time around, Mills nipped Bitney for the regional title, 7-6.
Enos also had a rematch during Saturday’s regional final at 135 pounds. And, just like last week, Enos dominated Decatur’s Jerry Doran in the championship, winning 13-7.
Mills will open the Mat Classic against Oak Harbor junior Colton Elliot Friday morning and Enos will take on University junior Kevin Harder. Both Mills and Enos will be making their second appearances at the state tournament. Doran’s first trip to the Mat Classic will begin Friday against Moses Lake’s Cameron Chlarson.

Along with Tillman and Doran, the Gators are also sending Dylan Aparis (152 pounds, third place), Greg Bull (140, third place), Nick Lindholm (103, third place) and Darren Faber (189, second place). The top-four individual finishers in each weight class advanced to the state tournament.
Mills and Enos will be joined inside the Tacoma Dome by 103-pounder Tre Uson and 285-pounder Johnny Kemman. Uson was pinned by Rogers’ Bryce Evans in the championship match and Kemman finished fourth in his weight class.
