Seamus Alger: The Decatur grad is swimming his senior year at Fresno Pacific University after transferring from the University of Utah. Last year at Fresno Pacific, he earned first-team, All-American honors and was part of a team that finished second at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships. At Nationals, Alger was the lead swimmer on the 800 freestyle relay team that took second place, placed third in the 200 butterfly, and swam the third leg on the team that won the 400 freestyle relay.
Amy Friedhoff: The Thomas Jefferson graduate is currently swimming her sophomore season at San Jose State University. While at Jefferson, Friedhoff won a total of seven individual West Central District titles, four in the 500-yard freestyle and three in the 200 free. Friedhoff also has a pair of silver medals and four third-place finishes at the Class 4A State Swimming and Diving Meet. As a freshman, Friedhoff led San Jose State in the 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle events. She finished with 25 individual and one relay win during dual meets. She red-shirted last season for the Spartans. San Jose State swims in the Western Athletic Conference against schools like Hawaii, Northern Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico State and Boise State. San Jose State finished fourth as a team at last year’s WAC Championships.
Katie Matulic: The 2008 Decatur grad is swimming at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas as a junior. She specializes in the butterly and was a four-year letterman at Decatur. She finished third in the state in the 200 individual medley in 2007 and finished second her senior year in 2008. She missed the league Mountain West Championships last season because of mononucleosis. She finished eighth in the league in the 200 butterfly as a freshman.
Stephen Sullivan: The Decatur grad is swimming his senior season at Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. He transferred from George Mason University in Washington, D.C. He holds the school record in the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:52.86 and was also a part of the record 400 medley relay team. Sullivan was named the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Male Swimmer of the Week in October after winning three events in a dual meet against The College of Charleston.
Briley Boggs: The Decatur grad is currently swimming her sophomore season at Seattle University. Earlier this month against Utah, Boggs won the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.48 and swam the third leg in the second-place 400 medley relay (3:58.77). The following day against BYU, Boggs was the second leg in the winning 400 freestyle relay team that finished in 3:40.76. In addition to her efforts in the pool, Boggs is enrolled in the nursing program at Seattle U and has maintained a 3.556 cumulative GPA.
Kelly Erickson: The Beamer grad is swimming her freshman season at Adams State College in Colorado. Erickson helped lead Beamer to SPSL titles in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and placed sixth at the state meet in the 50 free. Erickson currently has the top times at Adams State in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley.
Tommy Fraychineaud: The Beamer grad is currently diving at Stanford University. The sophomore placed eighth in the 1-meter dive and 13th in the 3-meter dive at the Pac-10 Championships last year.
Eryn Murphy: The Beamer grad is swimming her sophomore season at New Mexico State University. Last year, Murphy posted a career-best time in the 50 free (24.85) at the 2010 WAC Championships.
