Tracking the grads: Boys soccer and football

Boys soccer

Josh Norwood — The Decatur grad is playing his senior season at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Norwood played his freshman season at the University of Connecticut, before transferring. The midfielder saw action in 14 games last year, with 10 starts. Charlotte is currently 3-1-1 on the season.

Ernan Roman, Daniel Nam, Jordan Hale and Lenin Ramirez — The foursome are all playing at Highline Community College. Roman and Ramirez are both freshman from Thomas Jefferson and Hale and Nam are Beamer graduates. Nam is a sophomore and has two goals this season. Highline is currently 3-3-1 on the season.

Brennen Hall — The Todd Beamer graduate is currently playing at Pacific Lutheran University. Hall is a junior and played the last two years at Highline CC, where he was a two-time NWAACC all star. He has started two games for the Lutes, who are currently 3-2-0 overall.

Murphy Campbell — The Federal Way High School graduate is playing his sophomore season at Santa Clara University. The midfielder saw action in 16 matches last season and had one assist. This season, Campbell has started all six matches for Santa Clara and has two shots on goal. Santa Clara is 2-4-0 on the season.

Football

Andre Barrington — The 2009 Federal Way High School graduate is currently in his freshman season on the Washington State football team. The 6-foot-1, 214-pound outside linebacker is currently red-shirting for the Cougars and attempting to gain weight in preparation for next season. Barrington signed a full-ride scholarship after a stellar career at Federal Way High, where he was a three-sport star.

Andru Pulu — The 2009 Federal Way High School graduate is getting playing time for the 24th-ranked University of Washington Huskies as a true freshman. The 6-foot-1, 251-pound defensive end is one of only a handful of true freshman playing for the Huskies.

So far this season, Pulu has played in all three games, mostly on special teams. He has one tackle on defense and recorded a half sack during a Washington win over Idaho on Sept. 12. The Huskies travel to Stanford at 3 p.m. today to take on the Cardinal.

Evan Cook — The 2008 Beamer grad is currently the starting right defensive end for the Eastern Washington Eagles. The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder has started all three Eastern games and has nine total tackles, including four solo tackles. He also has a half of a sack. Eastern is currently 2-1 on the season with a wins over Western Oregon and Northern Colorado and a loss to sixth-ranked Cal-Berkely. The Eagles play at Sacramento State today.

Chase King — The Decatur grad is currently playing his redshirt freshman season on the Eastern Washington University football team. The 6-foot, 200-pound running back has played in two Eastern games this season and carried the ball five times for 15 yards as a reserve.

C.J. Green — The Federal Way grad is now playing defensive back at Eastern Oregon University after spending the last three seasons on the Western Washington football team. Green was forced to transfer to Eastern Oregon after Western shut its football program down last year. Green has played in four games this season and has 18 total tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery. Eastern Oregon is currently 3-1 on the season.

Rodell Razor — The Federal Way grad is playing at Eastern Oregon University as a defensive back. Razor has played in four games this season and has 13 tackles and six pass break ups. Razor is a senior.

Mike Waller — The Beamer graduate is playing at Central Washington University as a wide receiver. Waller has played in four games for the Wildcats and has five receptions for 46 yards. Central is currently 4-0 on the season.

Sean Davis — The Beamer grad is playing his redshirt freshman season for the Central Washington football team. Davis is a backup kicker/punter for the Wildcats.

Michael Oates — The Decatur High School graduate is playing his senior season on the University of Puget Sound football team. Oates is a 6-foot-2, 230-pound defensive lineman. He has played in one game this season and had two tackles against Pomona-Pitzer. UPS is currently 0-2 on the year.

Jimmy Ivory — The Federal Way grad is playing his senior season at the University of Puget Sound. The 5-foot-3, 156-pound running back has carried the ball three times in two games for -8 yards.

Corey Obungen — The Beamer grad is playing his freshman season at the University of Puget Sound. Obungen is a defensive back.

Brock Gates — The Decatur High School graduate is currently a backup quarterback at Pacific Lutheran University. Gates transferred to PLU after attending the University of Washington and Edmonds Community College to play baseball.
