Final – Gonzaga Prep 41 Todd Beamer 39
In the finals seconds of a see-saw battle at the Tacoma Dome, Gonzaga Prep guard and daughter of NBA Utah Jazz star John Stockton, buried a three-point shot from the top of the key with about two seconds on the clock to snatch the victory from Todd Beamer.
Todd Beamer played an tough defense through the game, which gave the Titans the lead for much of the game.
In the fourth Gonzaga went up 38-35, but the Titans battled back defensively and with about 1:22 in the game Beamer took the lead a 39-37 lead when Nia Alexander scored.
On Gonzaga’s next possession the Titans defense forced a shot clock violation.
Beamer came down with a chance to ice the game but turned the ball over.
The Titans defense tightened, but Gonzaga found Stockton open at the top of the key and she hit the shot for the win.
Beamer will play Saturday 1 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome for either third or fifth place.
