The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) will continue its 2012 broadcast schedule with live coverage of 3A, 4A State Baseball, 4A State Softball and 2A, 3A, 4A State Track and Field on the WIAA Network.
The spring coverage will feature events spanning the entire state. Beginning with 2A, 3A, 4A State Track coverage on May 24 at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, the WIAA Network will show preliminary races and field events through Saturday’s finals.
Friday through Saturday, the 3A, 4A State Baseball Championships will be showcased from Gesa Stadium in Pasco with all eight games aired live. The Todd Beamer Titans will take on the Kenwood Conquerors at 7 p.m. on Friday in the 4A semifinals. The Beamer-Kentwood winner will play for the state championship against the winner of a game between Puyallup and Richland at 7 p.m. Saturday. The two losers will play at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The 2012 spring broadcasts are rounded out on Saturday with the airing of the 4A Softball third and fourth place game at 3 p.m. and along with the championship game at 5 p.m. at Merkel Stadium in Spokane. The Thomas Jefferson Raiders are making their fourth-straight appearance at the state tournament.
As with all WIAA Network-produced events, all content will be available on-demand after the contests are complete at WIAANetwork.com.
During the fall, the WIAA partnered with PlayOn! Sports to create the WIAA Network, a cross-platform endeavor that delivers television and web coverage of the WIAA State Events. In its first year of the agreement, the WIAA Network aired over 20 state championships from eight different sports and activities.
