Green River Community College volleyball standout Katelyn Nugent (6’1, SO, Thomas Jefferson HS) signed her official NCAA national letter of intent to continue her career at Manhattan College in New York, NY.
The Jaspers play in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and head coach Mark Jones plans to play Nugent as a middle hitter. Nugent is a 6-foot-1 sophomore from Thomas Jefferson High School.
Nugent was a first-team, All-NWAACC Western Region performer for the Gators this season, leading the team in kills, kill percentage and blocks.
Nugent was also an All-NWAACC academic performer and consistent presence on the GRCC athletic director honor roll. She will continue her studies in business administration at Manhattan.
“We are thrilled for Katelyn and her family to realize the dream of advancing to the highest level of volleyball brought about from years of work,” stated GRCC Athletic Director Bob Kickner. “Katelyn came into her own last season and Coach Densley brought the most out of her. A quality student-athlete, and person, the GRCC family is proud to be a part of her journey.”
