Members of a local Special Olympics soccer team received the coveted Golden Scarf before the Aug. 8 Seattle Sounders FC game. Team members include Keith Stamper, Tyler Bjork, Jon Emmett, Sounder James Riley, Cory Dempsey, Cody Peterson, Coach Terry Boyle, Travis Bjork, Laura Gorgen, Alex Wells, Coach Sharon Boyle and Shey Thommasen. The team recently returned from Omaha, Neb., where they finished fourth at the 2010 Special Olympics USA National Games. The team includes Federal Way and Des Moines area players.
