The Decatur girls golf team just didn’t have enough firepower for the Enumclaw Hornets Tuesday afternoon at the Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club. The unbeaten Hornets beat the Gators for the second time this season, 135-122, to claim the South Puget Sound League 3A Division championship.

The postseason for golf will kickoff on Oct. 22 at the 3A Medalist Tournament. The top players will then play on Oct. 23 with berths into the state tournament on the line. State will be played at an undisclosed location in the spring.
The Decatur boys golfers swept away the Lakes Lancers on both Monday and Tuesday. The Gators beat Lakes Monday, 63-53, at the Oakbrook Country Club in Lakewood and followed with a 73-50 win over the Lancers Tuesday on their home course at Twin Lakes.
Tyler Finneseth led the way for the Gators on Tuesday, earning medalist honors with a 1-over 37 at Twin Lakes. Spencer Clapp had Decatur’s low round Monday with a 39 at Oakbrook.
