Mirror’s Female Athlete of the Week: McKenna Hulse

Federal Way High School senior McKenna Hulse, golf, is in the spotlight this week for the Federal Way Mirror’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: French class.

Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Baking, binge watching shows, creating art with a Cricut.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Dad, Grant Hulse.

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone (living or from the past), who would it be?

A: Kate Bush because of her impact as a strong female role model. She is inspiring to all women. Kate has a unique sound.

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual.

A: Hit balls on the range, practice specific shots, listen to music, and focus on parts of her swing through drills.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “You’re Not the Only One I Know,” by The Sundays.

From the sidelines: Senior McKenna Hulse has led the FWHS girls golf team to a record of 2-3, with wins over the Kentlake Falcons and the Mount Rainier Rams. Battling through adversity, McKenna has showed determination this season. She was medalist in the two wins, scoring 54 strokes and a PR of 48 strokes, respectively. Way to go McKenna!

The Athlete of the Week feature section highlights two athletes from a Federal Way high school each week. Voting for the Athlete of the Year is held in spring with an awards celebration event held in June 2023.
