• Grade: Sophomore

• Sport: Boys Tennis

• Accomplishment: The Raider sophomore teamed with his brother, Kainoa, to finish 2-1 during the week in doubles action. The Rosas beat teams from Auburn and Auburn Riverside. Their only loss came to Kentwood’s Max Manthou and Adrian Tabaquin Friday. Manthou is the two-time defending state singles champion. The Raiders currently sit in second place in the SPSL North with an 12-2 record. Kentridge is unbeaten at 14-0.

• Something people don’t know about you?: “When I was 5, I wanted to be a lumberjack when I grew up.”

• Also noted: The Rosa brothers are the nephews of longtime TJ head tennis coach Andrew Buchan.

BROC JOHNSON

Beamer

• Grade: Junior

• Sport: Boys Golf

• Accomplishment: Johnson earned medalist honors in both of the Titans’ matches last week with wins over Decatur and Curtis. Johnson fired 1-under rounds of 35 both days at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club and Sumner Meadows Golf Course. The two rounds help Beamer win the South Puget Sound League championship.

• Favorite athlete: Tiger Woods

• What is in your iPod?: “Rap, including Lil’ Wayne, TI and more. Also some metal, including A Day to Remember and Atreyu.”

• What is your favorite class?: English and math

• Something people don’t know about you?: “I want to become a professional golfer and attend a four-year university.”

• Also noted: As a sophomore, Johnson finished as the runner-up at last year’s Class 4A State Boys Golf Championships. Johnson finished five strokes back of Kamiak’s Reid Martin at the Avalon Golf Links in Burlington.

• Grade: Sophomore

• Sport: Golf

• Accomplishment: Blunt finished as the medalist in last week’s win over the Thomas Jefferson Raiders with a 2-over 38 at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club. Blunt helped the Gators finish 9-0 in the SPSL and was medalist in all but one of their matches this season.
