Girls Tennis: Jefferson remains unbeaten in league play

The division-leading Thomas Jefferson Raiders squeaked by the Todd Beamer Titans Thursday afternoon with a 3-2 win to remain unbeaten.

The Raiders got victories from Breanna Ziccarelli at No. 1 singles over Taylor Lunka, 6-1, 6-1, Mackenzie Qualls and Averi Kitsch at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-2, and Vanessa Sariego and Krista Nakamura, 6-0, 6-3.

Beamer’s wins came from Kiele Bowman at No. 2 singles over Michelle Lee, 6-4, 7-5, and Sandina Antoine and Ruth Yi at No. 3 doubles, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

The Decatur Gators remain one match back of TJ in the SPSL Central Division with a 4-1 win over Federal Way Thursday.

The Gators’ victories came from Sara Lin at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, Salena Shugarts at No. 2 singles, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, Meghan Cassens and Jessica Kim at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-0, and Alyssa Hanson and Chanel Carlson at No. 3 doubles, 6-1, 6-1.

Federal Way’s lone win came from Haley Ward and Lauren Lange at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, 6-0.
