Three soccer players from the Federal Way school district were named to the 2010 All-State Girls Soccer Teams recently. The teams were voted on by high school coaches throughout Washington.

Thomas Jefferson junior Lindsey Dahl and Beamer senior Avery Salisbury were named first-team Class 4A and Decatur junior Abby McFaul received second-team Class 3A honors.

For the second year in a row, Dahl led the Raiders in scoring and was named the co-Most Valuable Player in the South Puget Sound League North Division, along with Kentwood’s Kiana Kraft. Kraft was named the Class 4A State Most Valuable Player.

Dahl, a forward, finished with 20 goals and four assists during the season to lead the SPSL. She had six multi-goal games, including three hat tricks.

Salisbury, a senior defender, had another stellar year for the SPSL South Division champion Titans. She was named the SPSL South Player of the Year after leading the Beamer defense to an amazing 12 shutouts on the season.

The Boise State-bound defender finished with two goals and four assists for the Titans, who lost to Puyallup at the West Central District Tournament. She will join former Beamer teammate Mackenzie Hickel at Boise State.

McFaul led the Gators in scoring with 13 goals and three assists during the season. The speedy junior forward had a hat trick during a win over Timberline and scored at least a point in all four of Decatur’s playoff games, including three goals and two assists. She had one goal each in the Gators’ two state-tournament wins over Mount Spokane and Southridge.

She was a first-team, All-SPSL 3A selection.
