Starting May 1, College Bound Player Training (CBPT) will be hosting girls basketball scrimmages and training at Todd Beamer High School starting on May 1. The event is for girls in seventh grade to 12th grade. The events includes:
• Individual Skills Training
• Position Training
• Scrimmages
The dates for the events are May 1, May 15, May 29, June 5, June 19 and June 26.
Seventh and eighth grade sessions will be held from 2-4 p.m. Ninth-12th grade sessions will be held from 4-6 p.m. Junior college & post grad players can attend the 4pm-6pm sessions.
The price for all six sessions is $240. Attendees can register for individual sessions at a price of $50. There are team discounts available.
There is a no recruiting clause for AAU/traveling teams. This event is not intended to be a place to recruit players for an AAU team. Most college bound players are already attached to an organization/team and CBPT is only providing training and scrimmage opportunities.
CBPT’s goal is to raise the level of play in the area in order to grow the game.
The trainers for the event have all played college and/or professionally. They are, Jamie Redd, Joyce Walker, Vanessa McClendon, Katie Farr, and Gabbie Wade.
Other trainers will be added to the event. Anyone interested in being a trainer can inquire.
Coaches from Divisions II and III, NAIA and junior colleges have been invited to the event. AAU coaches and college recruiting scouts are also welcome to view players during training and scrimmages.
