The Todd Beamer Titans remained in first place in the program’s quest to win its first-ever South Puget Sound League South Division championship. The Titans (14-3 overall, 12-1 SPSL South) beat the Bethel Braves Tuesday, 45-30, in a defensive slugfest. Beamer held Bethel to just 11 points in the first half, including just two in the first quarter.

The Titans were led by 11 points from freshman Quinessa Caylao-Do and junior Megan Huff chipped in 10.

Beamer can assure themselves the SPSL South title by winning its remaining three regular-season games. The Titans take on Graham-Kapowsin Friday night before battling one-loss Puyallup Tuesday and Federal Way on Feb. 1. The Eagles are the lone team in the South to beat the Titans this season.

Federal Way — The Eagles (16-2 overall, 12-2 SPSL South) picked up a hard-fought win over Bethel, 50-35.

Federal Way jumped out to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter and cruised the rest of the way. Senior Raven Benton led the way again with 18 points, Kayla Smith finished with 12 points and sophomore Mariyah Vongsaveng chipped in 11.

Jefferson — The Raiders (4-12 overall, 3-10 SPSL North) were handled by the top-ranked Mount Rainier Rams Tuesday, 69-43. Jada Piper led the way with 12 points, Jalynn Piper finished with 11 and Reno Whitcomb chipped in 10 for the Raiders.

Decatur — The Gators remained winless with a 60-25 loss to Peninsula Tuesday. Decatur (0-16 overall, 0-7 SPSL 3A) was led by 10 points from Melissa Garcia.
