Decatur forward Marcos Santos was nominated and selected as the Federal Way Mirror Athlete of the Week.

In the Golden Gators’ last three matches, Santos has provided nine goals and two assists. In Decatur’s most recent contest, an 8-0 win over Enumclaw, Santos scored two of his three goals in the first half.

Santos said there’s been nothing out of the ordinary that’s aided him during this scoring streak.

“I just pray that I play every game good,” Santos said. “As long as I feel good, have fun and play happy, I feel like I’m where I need to be.”

Santos said the scoring has been the easy part. The credit for the hard work goes to his teammates.

“It’s all about them,” Santos said. “They always seem to find me at exactly the right time.”
