This past weekend, the Federal Way 9U Knights went a perfect 6-0 to win the 2009 Tournament Summer Bash celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Snoqualmie Valley Little League. The team completed the pool play on Friday and Saturday by securing the number 1 seed for Sunday’s elimination round. After an extra innings battle in the semi-finals, the Knights completed the tournament sweep with an 11-8 victory over the Sammamish Spartans. Every player contributed to the successful campaign with pivotal defensive plays, outstanding pitching and clutch hitting when the team needed it most. This team consists of 8- and 9-year-old players from the Federal Way area: Malachi Afework, Gavin Knapp, Timothy Hughes, Tate Wallat, Travis Miller, Kyle Russell, Tommy Davis, Ben Ray, Zak Gregg, Quin Hanson, Tyler Houston, Connor Keene, Ayden Adams, Ausin Stafford, Coach Bob Houston, Manager Scott Keene and Coach Stan Ray.
