For the first time in the history of Todd Beamer High School, the Titans will play in the postseason.
The Titans used a fourth-quarter comeback Thursday night to beat the Puyallup Vikings at Federal Way Memorial Stadium, 28-17. The win was Beamer’s second-straight win over the Vikings and secured the Titans fourth place in the South Puget Sound League South Division.
The Titans (4-3 SPSL South, 4-4 overall) will take on the first-place team from the Greater St. Helen’s League in the preliminary round of the Class 4A State Playoffs on Nov. 5. The winner will be District 4’s top seed into the state playoffs.
But Beamer’s path into the postseason looked like it wasn’t going to happen Thursday night against Puyallup. The Titans tallied 22 fourth-quarter points to rally for the win. Puyallup led 17-6 after the third quarter before the Beamer rally.
The Titans travel to University Place Thursday night to take on the second-ranked and undefeated Curtis Vikings. Curtis secured the SPSL South title last week with a win over Bethel.
