Todd Beamer High School senior Charles Bagley, tennis, is the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Oct. 7.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: History.

Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: I enjoy playing baseball, basketball, and tennis. Outside of sports, I love playing guitar and am currently getting involved with music production.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My Dad has helped me the most. If I have a question about almost anything, he has an answer. I hope to have as much knowledge as he does one day.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when to comes to your sport?

A: Playing not to lose sets you up for failure, so always play to win.

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual and your favorite post-game meal:

A: I don’t do much for a pre-game ritual, but before every game I tell myself to not dwell on the mistakes I make, but to learn from them and think about what to do better next time. Favorite post-game meal is tacos.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: I can’t stop listening to “Conversations with the Moon” by grentperez. I’ve listened to most of his music this past month, but this song is my favorite out of all of the others.

From the sidelines: Charles Bagley is a leader by action and he displays his calm but competitive demeanor daily. He always welcomes new players and is one of the first to partner up with a new member of our team. At practice or in a heated match, his first response is always calm and well spoken. Charles is vital to our team as a person of character and leader on the court. Charles has a 3.8 GPA and is a full time Running Start student. He is also the tennis team captain. Charles plays in the band at Todd Beamer High School and last week, went from the tennis match at Federal Way, right over to play in the band for the football game.
