From the sideline: FWHS senior Nick Oberst has been the definition of what every coach hopes for in a student-athlete. It would be hard to find anybody more determined to improve and put in the time and energy to make it happen. Nick puts in extra practice whenever possible in season and out, and all that hard work culminated in a very successful fall season. Playing at 1st Doubles in one of the most competitive leagues in the state, Nick and his partner won the overwhelming majority of their matches to finish as the third strongest team in the NPSL and claim overall victory at an invitational tournament in October.
Moreover, he was a key leader on his squad, encouraging younger teammates with sound advice, cheers from the sideline, and an easy sense of humor to help bring players together in a largely individual sport.
