Decatur High School senior Jack Bergstrom, baseball, is the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for May 12.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Science.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy outside of your sport?
A: I like hanging out with friends and family, working out and cooking.
Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?
A: My parents. They have been my biggest supporters every step of the way.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone (living or from the past), who would it be? Why?
A: I would have dinner with my friend Reese Widman. Reese was an amazing kid and a special soul. Sharing a meal with him again would make me so happy. I miss you, my friend.
Q: Describe your pre-game ritual.
A: I pray before every game, and do my stretching and arm care routine.
Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?
A: “Put It On Me” by Ja Rule.
From the sidelines: DHS senior Jack Bergstrom was selected captain of the 2023 baseball team. He has earned this honor with four seasons in the program and three varsity letter awards. Jack is a leader of the Gator baseball team both on offense and defense. As the catcher, Jack is a vocal leader directing the defensive strategy. On offense, Jack is a consistent hitter that also demonstrated power to all fields. Off the field, Jack has also excelled in the classroom, earning a 3.964 cumulative grade point average. Jack has committed to continuing his academics and baseball career at Tacoma Community College.
