Federal Way High School’s Alphonzo Tuputala, football, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Sept. 7.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Marketing
Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?
A: Link Crew, leadership, church and making music.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: Dad – taught him everything he knows, especially core values.
Q: Do you have a pre-game/competition ritual or post-game tradition, and what is it?
A: On game days, Alphonzo prays in the morning, afternoon, during the game, and post-game.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: “Still Think About You” by A-Boogie
From the sideline: Alphonzo Tuputala led the game on Aug. 31 in tackles with 12, seven of which were solo tackles. He had one sack and two tackles for a loss. He caused a fumble and generally created havoc all night long. He scored on a two-yard run in the third quarter to put the Eagles up 17 points. Alphonzo is a senior football team captain and has committed to play football at the University of Washington next year.
