Thomas Jefferson High School’s Nancy Cabanas, tennis, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for April 6.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: World history.
Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?
A: Fortnite, watching soccer, volleyball, shopping.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: Mom and Dad. They have supported me throughout my life in school and in sports.
Q: Do you have a pregame/competition ritual or postgame tradition, and what is it?
A: Going to any drive-thru and ordering a strawberry banana smoothie.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: “The Middle” by Zedd.
From the sideline: Freshman Nancy Cabanas is currently 4-0 in No. 1 singles competition winning versus Decatur, Auburn and Federal Way (Federal Way’s No. 1 singles girl went to state last year) in helping TJHS to an early season 4-1 record, tied for 1st place in NPSL standings. She also has a 4.0 GPA.
