From the sideline: Last week, Decatur junior Claire Xu led the Decatur girls golf team to a fourth place finish at the North Puget Sound postseason girls golf tournament. In the two-day event, she finished one over par in third place just three strokes behind the leader. During the regular season, Claire was the point leader for the North Puget Sound Olympic Division averaging 26 points per match. Claire has qualified for the West Central District tournament in the spring and is looking forward to improving on her fourth place finish from last spring at the WIAA 4A State Golf Tournament. Claire is an exemplary student-athlete sho has performed to that same high standard in the classroom. She has earned a 4.0 cumulative grade point average in a rigorous college prep course load. Claire has taken advanced placement courses in English, math and social studies.
