Decatur High School senior Peyton Washington, wrestling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for March 11.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Chemistry.
Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A: I enjoy making pottery, writing and watching movies.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My Mother.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?
A: “Just keep swimming.”
Q: Describe your pre-match ritual and your favorite post-match meal?
A: Pre-match ritual: Listen to hype Disney songs and jog. Post-race meal: Marinated salmon and mango salsa with rice and Dole Whip from Menchies for dessert.

From the sidelines: Decatur and TAF@Saghalie senior Peyton Washington has been a four-year letter winner in the Lady Gator wrestling program. Her senior season culminated in a fifth place finish in the 120-pound weight class at the WIAA 4A Mat Classic State Championships. This season, she was first place in sub-regional wrestling tournament and 2nd place in WIAA 4A Region 2 tournament. Peyton has also been a four-year letter winner in the girls swim program. She has earned a 3.96 Cumulative Grade Point Average and as a full-time Running Start scholar, will earn her high school diploma and Associate Degree in June.
