From the sideline: Thomas Jefferson High School sophomore Isabel Borchers is a star athlete who comes to practice on time and stays until it is time to head home, focusing on nothing else except becoming a better gymnast and building up her skills. She is one of the hardest working gymnasts who has progressed over each week and each meet. Isabel has a kind heart and spirit about her, loves to cheer on her teammates, and works well with everybody — especially the coaches. She is extremely coachable! As in any individual team sport, she may not be our highest scorer, but her scores do count as her drive, positive attitude, spirit and passion make for one of the top five scores in her events. She is what the Raiders coaching staff looks for in a student-athlete who practices like a champion and competes like a champion.
