Thomas Jefferson High School’s Griselda Cuevas, girls wrestling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Feb. 15.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Math.
Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A: Hanging out with friends and family.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My mom and dad.
Q: Do you have a pregame/competition ritual or postgame tradition, and what is it?
A: Listen to my music, then I go talk to my coaches.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: “My Own Thing” by Chance the Rapper.
From the sideline: Junior Griselda Cuevas took first at the 100 pound weight class at the WIAA Region 2 Girls Sub-Regional Wrestling Tournament held at Thomas Jefferson High School on Jan. 1-2. Griselda currently holds a record of 17-6. She will be participating in her second WIAA Mat Classic XXXI State Tournament held at the Tacoma Dome Feb. 15-16.
