Decatur High School senior Jewel Young, basketball, is the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Dec. 9.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Math.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy outside of your sport?
A: Family time.
Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?
A: My parents.

A: God because I got a lot to talk about.

A: I always pray, then listen to music.

From the sidelines: Decatur senior Jewel Young has been both a leader of the Gators’ girls basketball team this season in statistics and motivation. The girls basketball team has started the season with two quality wins. Jewel will earn her fourth varsity letter award in the basketball program as a member of a team that has qualified for post-season tournaments all four years. She has also been outstanding in the classroom earning a 3.44 Cumulative Grade Point Average, ranked 89th in her class.
