Thomas Jefferson High School senior Emily DeBoer, bowling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Dec. 6.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Psychology.
Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A: I enjoy singing and playing the piano.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My parents and my coach. They always support and believe in me.
Q: The best advice I’ve ever been given by a coach is:
A: “Relax, throw a good shot and try to leave an easy spare.”
Q: Describe your pre-game ritual and favorite post-game meal.
A: Before games, I stretch with my team and get everyone excited and energized. My favorite post-game meal is probably pizza.
Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?
A: “Rise Up” by Andrea Day.
From the sideline: TJHS senior Emily DeBoer, a state bowling competitor from last year, bowled a 158 and 179 along with throwing big strikes in the Baker games to help the Raiders defeat Todd Beamer in a very tight match last Tuesday, Nov. 26. Emily led TJHS to the opening season win. Emily showed great leadership against Todd Beamer as she consistently motivated her teammates to stay focused.
