From the sidelines: Federal Way junior Karma Walker isn’t only an incredibly gifted athlete, she’s the entire package. She works hard every single day to improve, not only her game, but her teammates as well. You will often hear Karma teaching her younger teammates all aspects of the game. During practice, she’s coaching them one-on-one in the post, showing them how to be better defenders, how to defend a post like her. She makes everyone around her better, every day. She’s a classroom favorite of most of her teachers as well. Her character and integrity are second to none. She truly is one of a kind. While she was at the top of the NPSL in rebounds as a sophomore, that trend has only continued. During the Eagles’ last two victories, Karma has had double-doubles. Against Kent Meridian, she poured in 21 points and 13 rebounds. Against Kentlake, she dumped another 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Her performance on and of the court, her dedication, loyalty and pure heart, make her very deserving of Athlete of the Week.
