From the sidelines: FWHS senior Treja Patterson is the epitome of a scholar athlete. As a captain this year, starting her 4th year of varsity softball, Treja has been the go-to leader this season. Her calming demeanor helps to keep order in the dugout. Treja allows her actions to do her “talking” for her. She is a leader by example.
As a First Team All-NPSL selection last season, Treja leads this season’s team in every offensive stat while holding down the defense at shortstop. But even with an All-League selection under her belt, she is still open to learning, always asking questions. Being named a leader of a group is one thing, being recognized as a leader is another, and Treja’s teammates rally around her in such a way.
All this and excelling in the classroom. Treja keeps on top of her class work, taking multiple AICE courses to better prepare herself for the next level. Having applied to multiple universities, there is no doubt Treja will hit the ground running at whichever university she accepts.
