Federal Way small forward Rashon Slaughter was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Athlete of the Week.
The senior has struggled as of late from 3-point range, but he found the stroke in the Eagles’ 70-61 win over Kentwood in the 4A regional round of the state basketball tournament. Slaughter led the Eagles past the Conquerors with a team-leading 22 points, including Federal Way’s first eight points of the third quarter. He also added three rebounds and two steals.
Slaughter also made his debut in the Tacoma Dome on Thursday in the Eagles’ quarterfinal games against Richland-Davis. He’s the only member of the Federal Way roster who has yet to play playoff basketball in the Tacoma Dome.
