Darion Brown, junior center for Todd Beamer girls basketball, was selected as the Mirror’s Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 6.

After scoring just three points in the Dec. 20 loss to the division-leading Auburn Riverside Ravens, Brown has picked up the scoring responsibility for the Titans.

In the Titans’ 53-28 win over Federal Way, Jan. 3, Brown led Beamer to the lopsided win with 10 points, four rebounds, two blocks, a steal and three assists.

“Darion’s played some big minutes for us, which has translated into some big plays,” Beamer coach Corey Alexander said.

She followed up the win over the Eagles with yet another double-digit scoring performance three days later in the Titans’ 27-point win over the Enumclaw Hornets.
