Federal Way heavyweight boxer Vincent Thompson (6-0) defeated Charles Ellis (6-1-1) in a six-round unanimous decision. The featured fight was part of Battle at the Boat 79, held Nov. 13 at Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma.

The fight was fairly even after the first four rounds, but Thompson came on strong in the fifth and sixth rounds to top Ellis, a former National Golden Gloves champion from Vancouver, Wash.

The evening was sponsored by Brian Halquist Productions. Thompson won his last fight on Aug. 28 by topping Villi Bloomfield in a five-round unanimous decision. The next Battle at the Boat event is slated for Jan. 8, 2011.
