The Federal Way football team will play in the postseason. The Eagles clinched one of the South Puget Sound League North Division’s four playoff berths Friday with a 33-0 shutout of the Kent-Meridian Royals at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.

The win moved Federal Way to 5-2 in the North and 6-2 overall.

The Eagles will advance as either the second, third or fourth seed from the North. Unbeaten Auburn clinched the North Division title Friday with a victory over Tahoma. Federal Way plays Jefferson Friday in both teams’ regular season finale. The Eagles need a win over TJ and a loss by Kentwood (5-2) to secure the division’s second seed. If Kentwood beats Kentlake Friday night, the best Federal Way can do is third place.

The Eagles had no trouble with Kent-Meridian on their home field. Senior running back Andre Barrington scorched the Royal defense for 207 yards on the ground and one touchdown, and the Federal Way defense pitched their first shutout of the season. The loss dropped Kent-Meridian to 1-7 overall.

Barrington led off the scoring for the Eagles with a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He also had two touchdown runs of over 40 yards called back because of penalties.

Junior defensive back Daytrez Sterling made it 14-0 with a 36-yard fumble return for a score later in the first quarter.

Junior Kelyn Rowe added a 32-yard field goal and Kent-Meridian snapped a ball through the endzone on a punt to make the score 19-0 at halftime.

The Eagles added a pair of second-half touchdowns to finalize the score. Damon Hardy scored on a 14-yard run in the third quarter and George Williams added a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Jeff Logan completed 11 of 17 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns as the Eagles (6-2, 6-2) went to the air to beat the Gators (0-8, 0-7) in an SPSL South game Thursday at Federal Way Memorial Stadium. Eli Shoemaker had four catches for 94 yards and two TDs for Graham-Kapowsin. Jamaal Jones had 70 yards on two receptions, with a 64-yard score.

Decatur’s only score came on a 28-yard touchdown pass from quarterback John Duncan to Conner McFaul in the third quarter to cut the Graham-Kapowsin lead to 35-6.

Rogers 56, Beamer 7

The Titans (0-8, 0-7) remained winless on the season with a loss to Rogers (7-1, 6-1) Friday night at Sparks Stadium. The Rams rolled out to a 49-0 lead thanks to a pair of touchdowns from Tyler Van Sligtenhorst and Terrance Stubblefield.

Beamer’s only score of the night came on a 56-yard fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Tyair Love to Dominique Maxie.

The Titans will take on winless Decatur Saturday night at Federal Way Memorial Stadium in both teams’ final SPSL South Division game.

Curtis 40, Jefferson 16

Things looked good early for the winless Raiders Friday night. Jefferson led the first-place team from the SPSL South, Curtis, in the second quarter, 8-7. But the Vikings took control and scored the next 33 points to win the non-league game in University Place.

Curtis got 160 yards rushing and three touchdowns from Richard Southern. Jefferson’s two touchdowns came on a 10-yard run by Kama Frank in the second quarter and a 6-yard run from Zach Roth in the fourth quarter.
