Decatur’s Amanda Beyke will be back at the state golf tournament.
But this time, the Gator junior will be playing at the Class 3A State Girls Golf Tournament. This is Decatur’s first year in the SPSL 3A Division and Beyke will be the lone Gator, boy or girl, to play at state.
Last year, Beyke had an impressive performance at the 4A state tournament, finishing in sixth place overall with a two-day total of 145, including an opening-round 74 at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
Beyke qualified for the 2010 3A State Championships Tuesday by finishing second at the SPSL 3A Tournament at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Port Orchard.
Beyke finished off the two-round tournament with a 5-over par, 77 at Gold Mountain. Beyke also shot a first-round 77 last week for a two-round total of 154. Peninsula’s Rachel Lewis won the SPSL title with a two-day total of 148, including a first-round 69.
Enumclaw won the team title on the both the boys’ and girls’ side.
