After playing a competitive first quarter, the Federal Way Eagles separated from Beamer during the final three periods Friday night to win 90-65.
The Eagles (11-8 overall, 10-5 SPSL South) got 33 points from senior guard Jerry Duckworth
Federal Way led only 20-19 after the first eight minutes of play, but the Eagles outscored the Titans, 21-8, during the second quarter to blow the game open. Senior Deshea Bell finished with 18 points and Napa Mefi chipped in 15 points for Federal Way. Thomas Rhodes led Beamer (6-12 overall, 5-10 SPSL South) with 21 points and Mac Gridley finished with 13.
The Eagles will be the SPSL South’s fourth seed into the league tournament. Federal Way will take on the fourth-place team from the SPSL North at 2 p.m. at Auburn High School on Saturday. The winner will be the league’s seventh seed to the West Central District Tournament and the loser will be the eighth.

Decatur 78, at Auburn Mountainview 74 — Jerron Smith had another big night for Decatur Friday, scoring 35 points during the win over Auburn Mountainview.
Smith, Decatur’s all-time leading scorer, also had 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals. He raised his scoring average to 27.8 with his eighth game of 30 or more points this season.
But Smith wasn’t the high-scorer during the game. Auburn Mountainview’s Marion Beauchamp finished with a career-high 39 points.
The win ended the Gators’ regular season with an 8-2 record in the SPSL 3A Division. The Gators (14-6) will take on the loser of a game between Lakes and Hazen, the two top seeds from the SPSL 3A and Seamount leagues, at the 3A Sub-district tournament at 8 p.m. at Lakes High School Saturday. The winner will be the second seed to the 3A West Central District Tournament.
Austen Wilson finished with 14 points for the Gators against Auburn Mountainview.
Kentlake 81, at Jefferson 59 — The Raiders were outscored 63-41 in the final three quarters Friday night at home.
Kendall Green led Jefferson with 12 points and Chase Braxmeyer finished with 11. The loss dropped the Raiders to 2-13 in the SPSL North and 5-14 overall.
