BOYS BASKETBALL: Federal Way blows out Graham-Kapowsin, Decatur wins to set up showdown with Lakes

Despite being held scoreless in the fourth quarter, the Federal Way Eagles still blew away Grahm-Kapowsin Saturday night on the road, 74-42.

The high-flying Eagles outscored Graham-Kapowsin, 28-9, during the first quarter and led 48-22 at halftime. Federal Way then extended the lead to 74-30 entering the fourth.

The Eagles (9-8 overall, 8-5 SPSL South) were led by the 22 points of senior guard Jerry Duckworth, 17 from Napa Mefi and 14 from Deshea Bell.

Federal Way now sits in fourth place in the eight-team South with three games remaining in the regular season. The Eagles can guarantee themselves a postseason berth with a win Tuesday over first-place Rogers.

In other action:

at Decatur 64, Enumclaw 61 — The Gators improved to 7-1 in the SPSL 3A Division with a hard-fought win over the Hornets Friday night. The victory sets up a huge game Tuesday at Decatur against third-ranked Lakes. The Lancers sit one game up on the Gators in the SPSL 3A standings and beat Decatur on their home court earlier this season.

Against Enumclaw, the Gators got another big scoring game from senior guard Jerron Smith. The Portland State-bound Smith poured in 31 points to up his average to nearly 28 points a game.

Dom Hunter finished with 13 points and Markus Rawls chipped in 10. Decatur led 34-25 at halftime.

Rogers 83, at Beamer 51 — The first-place Rams cruised by the Titans Saturday night in Federal Way.

Rogers (14-3, 12-1) outscored Beamer, 27-11, in the first quarter before the Titans (6-10, 5-8) closed the lead to nine points at the half, 40-31. But it was Rams in the second half.

Beamer got 19 points from Terrance Salazar and 17 from Thomas Rhodes, who has three triple-doubles in the last four games with points, blocks and rebounds.

Auburn Riverside 64, at Jefferson 52 — The Ravens (8-9, 7-6) got 33 points from Cameron Grad and outscored the Raiders, 16-4, during the decisive third quarter to pick up the win Saturday.

Jefferson (4-13, 1-12) led 36-32 at halftime before the Ravens erupted in the third quarter. The Raiders were led by the 19 points of Deontae Davis.
