The Todd Beamer girls soccer team continued to roll through the South Puget Sound League South Division with another blowout. This time the victim was the Bethel Braves. The Titans shutout Bethel, 10-0, Thursday night to move to 11-0-1 in the South.
The Titans can secure their third-straight South Division championship Thursday night with a win against the Puyallup Vikings.
Beamer got a hat trick from Megan Miller against Bethel. Miller is second on the team with 12 goals and leads the team with seven assists. Junior Holland Crook has tallied 15 goals on the season, including one against the Braves. Beamer also got a pair of goals from freshman Breanna Straus, who has 11 on the season.
The Titans also got two goals from Joanne Kang and single goals from Lindsey Richou and Avery Salisbury.
The Decatur Gators remained in the playoff race in the South with a 3-0 win over Graham-Kapowsin Thursday. The Gators sit in third in the South with a 7-3-1 record.
Decatur got single goals from Ashley Graves, Hannah Isaac and Rachel Markey. Kayla Lipston picked up the shutout in goal.
Jefferson and Federal Way sit in a tie for fifth place in the SPSL North after Thursday’s action. Both have 4-5-3 records.
The Raiders were beaten by the undefeated Kentwood Conquerors, 1-0, on a goal by Jolene Crook-Meyers in the 35th minute. Federal Way tied Kentlake, 0-0.
The Todd Beamer boys picked up a pair of wins last week to finish their SPSL South season with a 12-4 record. The Titans beat Decatur Thursday, 4-1, and shut out Emerald Ridge Saturday, 5-0.
Jefferson picked up a hard-fought, 3-2, win over Federal Way Friday to move to 13-2 on the year. The Raiders got wins from Joe Lee at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1, Kyle Creek at No. 2, 6-4, 6-2, and Makoa Rosa and Kainoa Rosa at No. 2 doubles, 6-4, 6-1. Federal Way’s (7-9) wins came from Jake Stewart and Max Ward at No. 1 doubles, 6-4, 6-1, and Deshawn Williams and Ben Blackner at No. 3, 6-1, 6-3.
Volleyball
The four Federal Way school district teams remained winless in the SPSL with losses Thursday night.
Auburn beat Federal Way in four games, 25-9, 25-22, 24-26, 25-18, despite 25 assists from Trisha Paulino and 10 kills from Taylor Harris. Kentlake beat Jefferson, 25-8, 25-12, 25-23, Puyallup beat Decatur, 25-9, 25-5, 25-10, and Curtis downed Beamer, 25-9, 25-12, 25-11.
