Recent Todd Beamer High School graduate Kelly Erickson will swim in the fall at Adams State College in Colorado.
Erickson helped the Titans win South Puget Sound League titles in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle and 11th in the 100 fly at the Class 4A State Girls Swimming and Diving Championships as a senior.
“Kelly is a fantastic swimmer from Washington that Coach (Gary) Sturdy did a lot to help recruit,” Adams coach Rebecca Sturdy said about the recruit and her father, a volunteer assistant coach with the Grizzlies who still resides in Anacortes, Wash. “Kelly has a long stroke combined with a lot of speed and will immediately impact the team in the freestyle and butterfly events. With some stroke work, she could develop into a serious points scorer at conference.”
