The South Puget Sound League South champion Todd Beamer girls soccer team ended their regular season Tuesday with a 4-0 win over Spanaway Lake.
The Titans (13-0-3) got a pair of goals from Jenna Floyd and single goals from Jasmine Brilliante and Kiele Bowman. Meghan Graf got the shutout in goal.
Beamer will now take on Kentwood (13-1-1) in the SPSL championship game on Wednesday with the league’s top seed on the line.
Decatur
The Decatur Gators moved to 6-3-0 in the SPSL 3A with a 5-0 win over Lakes Tuesday. The Gators got a hat trick from Abby McFaul and single goals from Ashley Graves and Sierra Shugarts. Taylor Meadows finished with two assists and Ericka Vunzinich earned the shutout in net for the Gators.
Jefferson
The Raiders were beaten by the Tahoma Bears, 4-1, Tuesday to fall to 5-7-3 in the SPSL North. Jefferson could have still secured the fifth and final postseason berth by winning its final match of the season Thursday (after press time) against Kentlake and having Auburn Riverside lose to Mount Rainier.
Volleyball
The Todd Beamer Titans needed four games to get by the Federal Way Eagles Tuesday night in SPSL South volleyball action, 25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17. The win ended the Titans’ season at 7-6 overall and 3-5 in the SPSL South. Beamer finished one win short of qualifying for the program’s first-ever trip into the postseason. The top-five finishers in each SPSL division advanced to this weekend’s SPSL Tournament.
The Titans got several big-time performances Tuesday against the Eagles. Lexi Jones finished with 25 kills, Sophie Miller dished out 45 assists, Cloe Menshing had seven blocks and Aliya Ranis ended up with 21 digs.
The loss dropped the Eagles to 0-8 in SPSL South play and 1-11 overall. Federal Way’s lone victory came over Decatur in a non-league match.
Jefferson
The Raiders picked up their first SPSL North Division win Tuesday over the Mount Rainier Rams in Des Moines after dropping the first two games, 22-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-12.
Jefferson (1-6 SPSL North) got 18 assists from Leone Tanielu, 10 digs from Zahra Niazi, 11 digs and six aces from Adrina Tanielu and 18 digs and five kills from Mackenzie Mowry.
Decatur
The Gators were swept by Auburn Mountainview Tuesday in SPSL 3A action, 25-17, 25-20, 25-14. Auburn Mountainview was led by the nine kills of Molly Cichosz. No Decatur details were reported.
