Miloscia stands up for community values

Here we go again. Politicians sure love to take their opponent’s words out of context.

A few days ago, Claire Wilson attacked Sen. Mark Miloscia at her campaign kickoff and she brought up his statement about the violent protests surrounding the president’s inauguration.

Mark’s comments about that event weren’t aimed at people who were peacefully and respectfully protesting, as is their right.

He was clearly referring to the protesters who were engaged in and encouraging attacks on fellow citizens and the destruction of private property. Mark is right.

The rioters who advocated violence at the March were acting “un-American.” There is no constitutional right to harm another. Mark is right.

I’m glad that I am represented by a senator who stands up for civility and says no to vulgarity.

You and I know that Sen. Miloscia supports peaceful public protesting. All of us know that people have a right to give their viewpoint in America.

So why does Claire Wilson repeat and misrepresent things and take words out of context?

Every time that Sen. Mark Miloscia speaks out about common sense solutions, policies that work, caring for the needy, opportunities for all our neighbors, schools that are effective and fully funded, jobs increasing in our booming economy, strong families, thriving communities and loving one another, I am proud of him.

I am supporting him for re-election, and I’m grateful that Sen. Mark Miloscia represents us.
