Karen Backman’s letter last week referring to Washington State Republican’s as “stinky” and “kid-hating” reveals the shameless mind-set of the progressive left. It reinforces the impression many of us have that the day of civil political discourse in America is a thing of the past, replaced with bitterness and resentment. Ms. Backman ignores the fact that those Republican senators to whom she refers have constituencies who voted them into office and resent the insult she levied on their chosen representatives.
