Thank you Federal Way voters.
I would like to congratulate Martin Moore on his re-election, as well as Jesse Johnson and Hoang Tran on their election to the Federal Way City Council. I would also like to say thank you to my supporters who voted for me.
Please know that I will not cease my advocacy for important issues in Federal Way, such as the former Weyerhaeuser campus, the homeless situation, the epidemic of drug use within our city, homeowners who feel under water with rising taxes, as well as searching for quality businesses to find a home here. One of the issues that strongly resonated with Federal Way residents with whom I spoke while I was knocking on well over 12,000 doors in my campaign is the desire for Federal Way to have its own “Bite of Federal Way,” where we can enjoy different kinds of food and handmade craft items prepared by the incredible diverse community we have in Federal Way, in addition to outdoor and indoor entertainment opportunities.
I have adopted a couple of projects to keep me busy including advocating for vocational opportunities for our high school students who won’t choose college as an option but may find a vocational setting that appeals to them.
I have agreed to help introduce legislation to help homeowners get a fair shake if the housing market takes a tumble once again.
I’ve been invited to work on a number of issues outside of Federal Way, as well, such as being a guest speaker in Washington D.C. on non-profit issues and making a presentation at my national association in New Orleans.
A legislative campaign has also made contact with me to act as a consultant.
So those, coupled with managing my court-reporting agencies and my work for the city of Federal Way on the Civil Service Commission and the Parks Commission, will keep me very busy.
But I will never be busy enough to not take the time to listen to my fellow residents and friends of Federal Way. You can reach me at 253-214-2999 if you would like to enjoy a cup of coffee and just talk.
