Veda Stillwell, a former Tacoma resident, died March 31. She was 78.
She was born March 15, 1926 in Tacoma and graduated from Lincoln High School there.
She worked with the IRS and volunteered at a military service center, where she met Robert Stillwell, whom she married in 1947. They moved to Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated as a chiropractor. They returned in 1948 to Tacoma, where they lived until 1999, when they moved to Salmon, Idaho.
She worked at the Puyallup Fair for 49 years and also at the Spring Fair, even after the move to Idaho.
Survivors include her husband; children Diane Sylva of Federal Way, Karen Cook of Puyallup, Deb Kerr and Kenneth Stillwell of Tacoma; a brother, Dean McCoy of Seattle; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
At her request, there were no services.
