Stephen Louis Price, born July 30, 1947 in Seattle, died December 17, 2017, age 70 in Auburn, Washington.
The youngest of three brothers, Steve grew up in Lynnwood, Washington, where he became a record-breaking southpaw quarterback at Meadowdale High School and developed a lifelong love of sports, camping, adventuring and storytelling with family and friends. After graduating from Central Washington State College, he taught and coached in the Federal Way School District for 34 years, charismatically leading his football, wrestling, and baseball athletes to 32 district championship seasons, and teaching countless students to be leaders in their own lives and always do their best.
Steve is predeceased by parents Howard and Verene (Boebel) Price and brother Howard Price, and survived by brother Gary Price, children Christie Schultz, Shelley Wright, Stephanie Van Hoof, Joelle Price, and Brian Price, five grandchildren, and a loving extended family. His larger-than-life spirit is missed by all.
A public service will be held Saturday, February 10 at 1:00 at Sacajawea Middle School in Federal Way. Memorial donations may be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research (alzinfo.org).
