Russel Van Garlough, age 79 of Federal Way, passed away on Nov. 19, 2018. Russel was born on Feb. 9, 1939 in New Deal, Montana, the eldest son of Van Bryan Garlough and Alvina Burgemeister.

Russel attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana and graduated in May of 1962 with a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering. Russel was hired right out of college by the Boeing Company, and he remained with Boeing for his entire career.

Russel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Orla Mae Garlough, his children; James Garlough, and Kristien (Joel) Stevenson, his grandson Ryan S. Stevenson and other relatives and friends. A memorial gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th at the Des Moines United Methodist Church, 22225 9th Avenue South, Des Moines, Washington. Cremation at Yahn and Son Funeral Home, Auburn, Washington, (info@yahnandson.com). Future interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Columbia Falls, Montana.
