Robert LaMoria was born in West Seattle. His parents were Robert Earnst LaMoria and Virginia Mae Witte. He grew up in Seattle and moved to Auburn, where he graduated from the Auburn Adventist Academy in 1959. Bob attended Walla Walla College.
He spent the sixties working for Valley Concrete and Valley Supply Co-Op. In 1970 he became a King County Sheriff and worked as a Patrol Sergeant and a Homicide Detective including the Green River Task Force.1990 – 2001 he was the manager of the HITS unit, the Homicide Investigation Tracking System for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office. Bob met Robin Hauge in 1964 when she saw the first ever blue Mustang convertible. She liked the car but fell in love with the driver. They were married 58 years. Bob is survived by his three children: Patrick and Carol LaMoria, Michael and Jennifer LaMoria, and Teresa and Russell Day. They have seven grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer Day, Alan Day and Megumi Russell, Luke, Logan and Landon LaMoria, Kaitlyn and Alexa LaMoria. Bob died of complications after a lengthy battle following a stroke in 2022.
Bob will be forever missed as a man of integrity, a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a wonderful brother in law to Robin’s six siblings and a loyal friend to many. May he forever rest in peace. His funeral will be held Tuesday, November 26th at 10:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Federal Way, Washington.
