August 24, 1959 – January 26, 2018

Melvin was born on August 24, 1959 in Burien, Washington. He lived most of his life in Federal Way, Washington.

On September 27, 1990, he married Sue Vandemaele, in Hawaii. They were married for 20 years.

Melvin loved vacationing in Hawaii and in Ocean Shores. He also loved Harley Davidsons, Mexican food and tequila sunrises – not necessarily in that order. He was proud to be a firefighter for over 30 years in South King County, and had worked his way up to Deputy Fire Marshall before his retirement.

He is survived by his Mother, Margaret McMahon; his siblings Sherry Lavachek, Gerry Landes, Nancey McMahon, Pat McMahon, and Sandy Powell; his children Jonathan Wallstrom, Nathaniel Wallstrom, and Taylor Luther; and his grandchildren Violet, Rosie, Grant, Cole and Lauren, all of whom were the love of his life. Melvin will be greatly missed.
