Mary Elizabeth Engel Osborn, was born on March 24, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. Mary was the only surviving child of Frank and Lila Engel. She married Thomas Edward Osborn on February 12, 1949.

They moved to Seattle, Washington in 1965. After moving to Seattle, Mary joined St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Federal Way. She was one of the founding members of the church choir and sang for over 50 years. After her husband’s death in 1986, she started her own band called the Merry Notes, and traveled around the state playing for many different events.

Mary was the mother of seven children: Evelyn Irvine (Don dec. 2008), Lila Mechling (Mike), Judy Osborn, Mary Ann Osborn (dec. 2003), Thomas Edward Osborn Jr. (Kim), Fran McKinley (Jack) and Kathleen Cole (Dennis). She was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mary lived a long life of ninety-one years. She passed away on October 16, 2019.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Federal Way, on Saturday, October 26 th at 11:00 AM. The rosary will precede the Mass at 10:30 AM. Reception will follow in the parish hall.
