Maria Hebert died Feb. 21 at her home in Federal Way. She was 85.

She was born June 6, 1918 in Eugendorf, Austria, and married Clarence Hebert, an American soldier, in 1952 in Salzburg, Austria. Her husband brought her and her son, Josef, to the United States, where she became a U.S. citizen in 1957.

She was a military wife for 27 years, a homemaker and a 33-year resident of Federal Way and Renton.

Survivors include her son, H. Josef Hebert of Maryland, and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 7, 2004.

Inurnment services will be at 11:30 a.m. March 1 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are by Price-Helton Funeral Home of Auburn.
